A very well designed mythic. She is not overpowered upon hitting the table and at least requires other cards to do her combo magic. She also feels appropriately costed too. Possibly a little over the top; maybe it should have read "Whenever you gain two or more life...", but this is a heck of a lot more balanced than Baneslayer. I think Wizards did some good work here.

Gonna be crazy with Trostani or modern faves like Soul Warden, Gather the Townsfolk adding 2 or even 5 +1/+1s to each creature. A fun card!

But I thought the wicked didn't have nightmares.
Cage the Elephant told me there ain't no rest for them.

I like to combine this gal with seraph sanctuary, soulmender, elixir of immortality, syndic of tithes, path of bravery, chalice of life, and rhox faithmender.
My favorite duel so far was against someone playing a deck that had fog banks and other creatures with defender. The fog banks kept him alive long enough to see me get four creatures that were 30/30 and my life total well over 200 points. That wasn't enough, I happened to have one Ajani, caller of the pride in my deck and was able to resolve his ultimate while healer of the pride was on the field (okay, I made this last part up but it would have been glorious if it were true!).
P.S. I know Rhox doesn't cause the angel to trigger twice but hell, with all the lifegain in my deck, he makes for a fun time.

I have a monowhite lifegain deck that has gone over a few small changes over the years - initially it had Cradle of Vitality in it, but I swapped that out for Well of Lost Dreams for some potent card advantage. With M14 I've swapped out the Baneslayer Angels for these, which is almost combining both the evasive wincon of the Baneslayer and the previous wincon of the Cradle into one neat little package.
In particular, it pumps up my Walls of Reverence as well as herself, so if/when she ends up dying I still gain big bursts of life each turn.

Trostani, Selesnya's Voice and Ooze Flux with this.
I don't use Ooze Flux in my Trostani EDH deck, but this angel makes it very tempting.

She's not overpowered, she's kind of like Trostani or Blood Baron. If you're aggro, she's pretty overpowered against you. If you're control, she poses almost no threat. (but Voice of Resurgence gives you nightmares.)

Regardless of what impact this will have on constructed, she will remain at a good price for a very long time.
- She's an angel. Casual players love angels.
- She interacts well with lifegain. Casual players love lifegain.
- She isn't super broken unlike baneslayer, which caused a whiplash against the casual community for how expensive it got (baneslayer broke $50 at its peak) and how pushed its power was.
The casual crowd will lap this card up, just like how the casual crowd has caused bad cards like glimpse the unthinkable to reach unthinkable monetary prices.
scavenging ooze at the moment is really the only card that "breaks" this, because the lifegain is in tiny chunks and each one will trigger archangel (whereas something like thragtusk would only trigger once). It still feels too slow otherwise.
