Not only is this card terrible, it's text box is flat out unappealing to look at. I mean, who wants to pay six mana just to give a creature vigilance and lifelink? Even if the creature was good, that ability just wouldn't feel right. Can Wizards stop making cards like this? Why couldn't this card be a 4/4 with vigilance and lifelink for 5 or something? It would still be unplayable in Constructed, but at least it would have a place in casual. Sigh...

Yeah, 6 mana for both those abilities is pretty pricy, but if they had been
{2}{W}: Gains Vigilance
and
{2}{W}: Gains Lifelink
it would probably be rated around 3.5 stars. As is, I'll give it a 3 for being one of white's bigger creatures

Damn. He looks so cool too. It's a shame wizards wastes cards by making them absolute shit.

This just in! Massive recall of the uncommon card known as Stonehorn Chanter. Turn in your old copies and pickup your new ones at your local card shop:
Stonehorn Chanter 4W Rhino Cleric 4/4
WW: Stonehorn Chanter gains vigilance and lifelink until end of turn.
W: Stonehorn Chanter gains trample until the end of the turn. (I know trample is normally a green ability, but I figure a surge of priestly zeal could surely give this one white creature some trample - and he is a rhino for crying out loud.)
Notice that the new flavor is that he is rewarded for his devotion (to the color white), thus the falling angel feathers and the ray of light.
And now he is on curve and actually worthy of being uncommon.
(Seriously though. This is of course unofficial. But if WOTC saw this and decided to implement it because they though it was a good idea that would be awesome.)

4/4 for six is bad. And the activated ability is far too expensive.

His dismay and sorrow are from when Wizards made his rules text.

Honestly? Having permanent vigilance and lifelink would have been fine for a 4/4 for 6 mana. And even then it would have been a little overcosted, perhaps. From my experience, 6 mana cards should either change the game drastically or even win it outright. As it is, this is just another skill gate for the newbies. I just wish it wasn't at uncommon...

He was in the box I got at magic celebration. Games in M14 limited go looooong. Cards were also pretty bad, so bad that doom blade me go, like, woooaaah, that's awesome dude.
What that means is, my opponent's big threats were vampire warlord and tenacious dead. A topdecked corrupt to the face or just having a creature I can't immediately deal with carrying a mark of the vampire were also pretty aggravating too... Yeah, for some reason all of my opponents were playing black.
He certainly won me more games than planar cleansing and seraph of the sword anyway.

vanilla 4/4 for 6 is crap. Paying 6 mana for this ability is crap. Its last pick material, but if your stuck with it in a draft, you might be able to activate its ability endgame.
