Deadbridge Goliath showed us that a 5/5 for 4 in green WITH upside is not constructed playable, and while this cards monstrosity is probably better than scavenge, it is also Legendary.
So I'm not really hopeful for this cards chance to break through standard.

I'm going to be honest here, guys: This creature pretty much sucks. Late game in a two headed giant match, I can see him being useful, maybe. However, his ability mana cost is too high; having to pay 3 cmc just to get a total of 1 damage on an opposing creature? Absolutely not. I will admit, though, that a big part of me is spoiled because of Kalonian Hydra. 3/5

Legality question: Since his text is written as "any number of target creatures" can you activate Monstrosity and just decide to not target any creatures at all?

Should have had Trample. It's kinda funny that something called "World Eater" can be eternally chump-blocked, without support.

I love how Timmy would love this, but the band is Jimmy Eat World, not Timmy Eat World.

This is such a hard card to evaluate. Sure Wizards could have made it better. You can always make things better. But the question then becomes is it good for its rarity? I personally don't think so in this set. Even if this thing was a rare I wouldn't be too worried about it effecting limited too much. Its green removal sure, but its kinda slow. I wanted to use this in commander but the effect is too underwhelming. If it was something like XG: and this ability or XXG: monstrous, X can't be 0 it deals damage equal to its power divided as you choose between any number of targets this would be really good. But in both those cases its extremely strong Green removal. And I'm not sure we really want green to have access to that powerful of removal in constructed or limited.
I get it. Change on thing about it and its solid and extremely powerful removal, leave it as is and its underwhelming. *Sigh*. Oh well.

Now that we know how powerful Nykthos is, any card that adds to your devotion and has an X activated ability should be rated very highly.
