I really like this card. The Hexproof makes the investment worth it, the Scry makes the attack worth it, and even not attacking still has value in the sense of 5 toughness. Also, the fact that you need to discard something and that it taps might have some combo potential, which I'm currently looking for. Any ideas?

Play this card, and you'll win the game, because no one will dare attack the player that controls the MOST MAJESTIC SPHINX.

From a distance, the section of his beard that is tied off at both ends looks like a set of giant teeth. It makes the picture look all Richard Corben-y.

Am I the only one who thinks he's kind of adorable? That said, get an Umbral Mantle on him and you have something mildly interesting going.

The ability he got from discarding didn't need to be Hexproof; it could just as easily simply have been Shroud, since they would both be temporary, anyways. And in that case, it could have been more in line with earlier creatures.

Awesome in a BUG Control build alongside Deathrite Shaman, Scavenging Ooze, Bow of Nylea, removal in the form of Abrupt Decay, Hero's Downfall and Putrefy, and card advantage in the form of Read the Bones and Opportunity. Removal clears air, CA provides cards for discard, discard provides food for Deathrite Shaman/Scavenging Ooze, or if we liked what we discarded and we want it back, we use Bow of Nylea's last ability. With all the aforementioned CA, and Scry (e.g. Scry lands, Dissolve, Read the Bones, Reaper of the Wilds), this shouldn't be much of a problem.

5/5
