Put this on an opponent's creature, preferably one with it's own ordeal. They get a counter or two, you get 10 life. Unless they choose not to attack, in which case hey! Guard Duty! I'd say it's fun in casual at least.

You buff up a creature AND gain 10 life??? Freaking amazing! I love having this card!

Cradle of Vitality
Oh he already had 3 counters from previous lifegains? Take another 10 before you go to that combat damage step.

Play this on a creature with Heroic and then use Strionic Resonator to ad one extra counter during attack or later, gain 20 life! If you have a Sanguine Bond out in play at The same time, GG!

Statistics Trivia:
With Ordeal of Purphoros, this makes a pair from a 'vertical cycle'.
It features the so far greatest damage vs life-ratio with 1 : 3.33 .
I've had fun using this with Vizkopa Guildmage second's ability - it's a hilarious,
(figuratively) cheap instant kill when this is sacrificed and you can pay her ability twice.
Ajani's Pridemate works excellent with them in a lifegain deck.
Like all the Ordeals, Clockwork Beetle can also make this go off immediately.
If you want to go green, Ageless Entity seems like the most obvious, since it can help fulfill it and gets crazy huge from it.
However, what's probably much better is Voracious Wurm, which becomes a 12/12 two-drop or even greater when you cast it after saccing the Ordeal.

Alas, this does not work perfectly with Sun Titan/Bruna. The attack brings back the Ordeal, but it doesn't get triggered, so you need multiple in the graveyard if you want one every turn.
