He has my hands-down favorite design out of all the Theros deities.

This needs to be in a Simic hyper-ramp deck using Plasm Capture, Prophet of Kruphix and as many blue and green X cost cards as possible! Nimbus Swimmer, Mistcutter Hydra, Vastwood Hydra, Biomass Mutation and Curse of the Swine to name a few.

I picture him hugging a snuggly Nyx-Fleece Ram. He's the only god who isn't able to take it out.

Crucifix's silhouette makes me think of an Indian hoody giving it just because he's got all that generic mana..

One of the coolest cards for Momir Basic to date. You can essentially skip a turn to double your mana output; if you aren't behind, that means you can skip your 7 and have a 50% chance to hit Emrakul, the Aeons Torn the following turn. If you're lucky enough to spike him AND dudes that have relevant activated abilities, (Kiku, Night's Flower comes to mind) you can mostly stay on curve, which is pretty insane if you think about it.

Should have called him Kruphix, God of G/U spells with X in the casting cost. I think it's time to dig out the old Power Sink and Untamed Might.
Edit: I just played this guy as a commander in multiplayer and I can say with some confidence that he is insane. I know Praetor's Counsel is a pretty awesome card already, but with this baby to cancel out its mana cost (several times over) it becomes absolutely ridiculous. Yes I will have my graveyard back thank you very much. And yes I will play half of it right away! p.s. I have about three counterspells now so don't bother trying to stop me.
On reflection I think he was given low power because the chances of getting and keeping his devotion up are better than pretty much any other god. Card draw, counterspells, land ramp and (albeit to a lesser extent than with black) regeneration and graveyard raiding is one hell of a formula for keeping plenty of cards on the board.
