a bit of a tough curve but id love to see this guy in modern with an unflinching courage on him! really neat card and wicked card design. albeit cant be tossed into just ANY deck. Has obvious interactions with growth spells, bloodrush and auras. Oh and Xenagos. If youre playing this in the right deck I give him a 5/5

Madcap Skills is a neat in-colour way to make this more likely to connect. I look forward to pairing this with Aqueous Form for the ability to tweak at least one of the cards that'll come up; this one will make fast friends with decks that scry.
Ohhh and outside of Standard, I REALLY want to try this out with Sword of Feast and Famine. Protection from relevant colours to better swing through and the potential to cast expensive spells before and after Flamespeaker triggers since you get to untap? Sign me up.

"Pushed even slightly more"? It's already Vintage playable, which is no small feat!
Try Sword of Feast and Famine, if you're worried about Doom Blade. This guy is insane with any Sword, really. Or Jitte.

This card is cool, I like how they switched up Daxos of Melitis here. Card draw in red, even though it is a creature without evasion, is something that beatdown decks want, and this accomplishes that very nicely. If it had haste it would be something like Goblin Lackey or Warren Instigator but being a 3-drop it is just a bit slow. Still extremely powerful in the right circumstances and it has one of the best keyword combinations possible on one card.

So awesome. I love the art and all of the abilities. He really loves to carry equipment (and I guess auras as well), so I threw him in my Tajic EDH deck. It is awesome that he gives red a way to draw cards, even if they are only usable for that turn.
I see some comments about his rarity. Some people think he should be rare because he is not epic enough, and others think he is good as a mythic because it limits circulation. To me, this card is amazingly epic.
You get to try to see what cards work with his doublestrike and trample. You get to try adding him into a red devotion deck. Maybe you have an aura deck and you use his ability to slowly add on more auras until you have an insane killing machine.
Another thing about being a mythic is that casual players will see it, know it's a mythic rare, and they will try to see why it's good, simply because its rarity says it is good.
This is a good mythic because it is cool, interesting, and also potentially competitive.

Already seeing play in Modern; I wouldn't be surprised if this broke into Legacy too. What a bonkers card.

This is an undeniably great card that's undervalued at release because nobody has a clue whether a deck exists to support it - its a pushed card even without the exile ability. If I had to make baseless speculation, I think a deck will emerge and the card will get expensive, but it might not happen until the next block is out. Then again, he might never get good because he's too fragile for Modern (dies to Bolt) and too expensive for extremely aggressive decks.
However, its a very unassuming, and insanely fun card to play with. Opponents rarely seem to him as something more than a 1/3 with double strike, but you can get some totally bonkers hits out of this guy if you have any kind of pump. The first game I played after I put together a Flamespeaker deck I brained the opponent for 16 damage on Turn 3 by using my Elvish Mystic to get the Flamespeaker out on Turn 2, and then bloodrushing a Rubblebelt Maaka and a Ghor-Clan Rampage...
