Pulled 2 of these guys at the prerelease. Since I was playing Boros Heroic, they were pretty much a 1-way ticket to Board Advantage Town every time they dropped.

At first, it looked meh to me, but after using it at the prerelease in which he won me several games, I can say that this guy is great is limited. I think he might even be constructed playable. One of the better cards with Heroic.

Too bad he can't return creatures up to a converted mana cost of 3, which would have made it a Heroic Unearth.
That would make him really super interesting for constructed.
(He's also in bolt range and has no form of protection, so he can easily be dealt with.)
However, the ability is still quite interesting. Casting Spells with Rebound (e.g. Emerge Unscathed, Distortion Strike) can turn his ability into some considerable card and board advantage.
Creatures you can sacrifice immediately like Saffi Eriksdotter, Children of Korlis or Martyr of Sands should be great.
Other simply good cards like Voice of Resurgence, Tarmogoyf or Snapcaster Mage (which in turn would allow you to cast another spell) will do a nice job, too.
Also he's a Cleric, so in Legacy there's Rotlung Reanim... (see all)

This feels like one of those cards that everybody looks at and says "meh" at first, then somebody makes a completely insane combo and everybody hates it from that point on. I put it in a deck with a bunch of standard legal utility 1-2 drops just to test it and it actually feels like a proper engine. Once somebody figures out the best thing to do with it we'll be in business.
