The difference between this and scourglass is that this destroys lands. Therefore, it can really mess up your opponents when you have a bunch of big artifacts beating down because they can't do anything.

Maybe as much potential as Scourglass in a deck built to use it. I mean think, in a dedicated WhiteMyr deck, turn two Gold Myr, turn three Palladium Myr. turn four another Palladium Myr, turn 5 Armageddon and Plague Wind.

This card is amazing in my artifact EDH. Casting it with some artifact lands/mana generators out is amazing. Being able to mana starve your opponents and clearing the board besides yourself is amazing. Every time I have used this spell, I have won the game easily.

This is better than Scourglass if you're using artifact lands, totally ruin your opponents pace while still having lands left yourself.

According to the Player's Guide in the Fat Pack, this is the greatest of all Darksteel Cards.

Use Liquimetal Coating to save any nonartifact permanents you want to save before dropping this.

I had this card from one of my first booster packs. I realized its power but did not like it because it hurt my own things. If I could take my knowledge now back in time, I would make a deck rocking this thing.

People, people. Scourglass takes longer and can't hit lands. If you're running the artifact lands of Mirrodin, Myr, etc. this will not only hand you the game on a silver platter, but will make you the ONLY person with any mana left.
