I know this card is used to shut down Moxes, and lotus. But is it used for any other uses in T1?

An unfortunate necessity for all Type 1 decks that aren't running the Time Vault combo.

@silkygoodness, mana abilities are not activated abilities. sorry, but that isnt its use. its ment to stop all the other annoying combos using artifacts.

Wow? Seriously? Has everyone on here lost their ability to read and UNDERSTAND the English Language?

1)Tapping a land for mana is NOT an activated ability. There is no : in tap to add (Insert color here) to your mana pool.

2) An activated ability looks like this: Oracle Text:
{1},{T}: Tap target artifact, creature, or land Taken from my favorite artifact, the Icy manipulator.

3) In several Vintage tourneys here in Philadelphia, this has already been ruled on. Tapping a land is not an activation, even if the land is an artifact. So, scrap your lattice/Propaganda decks. It doesn't work.

If tapping a land was an activated ability, every land and Llanowar Elves tapped for mana would go on the stack on MTGO. They bypass the stack, its not an activated ability.

original post
Ihateworking I can think of plenty of cards that see heavy vintage play.

where is the obligatory "one of the five pillars of vintage" comment?

actually the others i get, but i dont quite understand this one :/, i mean, sure you shut down activation cost artifacts, but arent most of the artifacts without activation cost? or does just tapping count?
