Agonizingly close to being strictly better than Stone Rain. As it is, I would still run Molten over Stone — or both in EDH.

People still rock the nonbasic lands, actually. Ravnican dual lands, for example. You can stuff twelve of them in a deck, and more if you pick the weird ravnican lands.
Speaking of which, as with everything else this is hilarious with Melek, Izzet Paragon and Goblin Electromancer. Do 4 damage and destroy 2 lands for ? Yeesh.
And to top it off, that art is beautiful.
