Lich is better because it draws cards, for one thing. Its an enchantment, so its harder to kill. You can Magus of the Mirror an opponent into oblivion. Or just Repay in Kind your way into instant win. Yeah, you're right. I have no idea how much better lich is, either. That, and if you cast this when you have more life than permanents, this is awful. Think about it. You still lose life, and you sacrifice permanents as well. Ergo, Lich does the same things as this, only better.
I like the idea, though.

Lich's Tomb + ( Trickbind + Isochron Scepter )
If you've got 2 mana open per turn and your 2 artifacts don't die, you're invincible.

Darien, King of Kjeldor. You're damaged at the same time you lose life, so you can just choose to have the King trigger first, and then sacrifice the tokens. Huzzah!

People don't seem to realize that this doesn't prevent life loss. It just makes it so you can't lose from it.
The sac clause is IN ADDITION to the lifeloss, which makes this...underwhelming to say the least. Any time you lose life ever, there goes yet another permanent, including it.

You are quite the unimaginative lot to give this such a low rating. This plus shadow born apostles+ xathrid necromancer+ parallel lives gives me enough tokens to really stay on the field. Add in shirei, and we might be talking infinite lives barring a phage or infect.
