this card can bring a great card advantage. unfortunately it's quite expensive considering that you have to take damage in order to work.
it would be quite awesome with a low casting cost like 
for the early game...

This is just horrible. At 5 it's not even worth building some cool strategy around. You'll just be disappointed.

Very effective creature deterrent in slow formats. Very good against Underworld Dreams decks (It becomes Necropotence). I drew over 21 cards off of this in the 5-player EDH game I won tonight. I made very good friends with the guy who dropped down a Warren Instigator and a Goblin Fireslinger. Sadly for him I had to Wrath of God 4 times (Day of Judgment, draw and play it again after Elixir of Immortality, Chain Reaction, Wrath of God). He ended up being the only one left and I mercy killed him with Splinter Twin.

I can see how the ability is great, I just think it should cost 1 less. Just 1 and it would seem very balanced and usable in casual specifically.
