You'd have a hard time finding a good use for that in a serious deck :P
But i'm pretty sure at least Vorthos is just as glad about this toy as Squee is.
Would have been so awesome if there was a stronger effect when you target him, like "If a card named Squee, Goblin Nabob was targeted this way, prevent all damage instead."
I mean yeah, Squee has only 1 toughness, but if he gets hit by a grizzly bear he'll still die.
Then again this would hardly have been possible considering Squee didn't exist in card form at that time :D
(Although something like that even happened later in Darksteel.)

I didn't play in limited when Tempest was released, but as a common, you could easily get multiples of this. At , it would be easy to fit into lots of decks, and could help protect your delicate shadow creatures like Soltari Knight from Shock and opposing shadow creatures. Not a great card, but it has its uses.
