In a deck built around it, this card pretty much says "you win the game". The highly flexible cost helps a lot too, and makes it even easier to play in, say, EDH decks with Scion of the Ur-Dragon as your commander.

A3Kitsune- their solution was quite elegant: Stop printing Dragonstorm, keep printing Fast Mana, in JUST Red, which is a color which doesn't have much you want to Ramp To- most of the best things in Red are CMC 5 or less. Dark Ritual is OUT of Standard for Good, because they always want to make cool Demons. But they have no problem making Red Dark Rituals, or very nearly, because they're steering clear of making Dragons as great and powerful as Angels or Demons.
