So my question is, if the creature you gained control of is removed from the game and returned (i.e. Flicker or something similar), would its control go back to its owner?

Cheaper than Mind Control, too.

Not bad, its going to steal something or bait out a removal. And being a creature its easier to return to your hand or the battlefield from the graveyard.

Super fun to use in EDH most of my group doesn't play any shadow to block it or direct damage to kill it and most don't even think about killing it until I've already used it. Can be a very low key way to steal your opponents Commander. 4/5
