Rare actually meant "rare" back then, not "go out and spend a pile of money to get cool cards and use them to crush people who have less money than you." So, seeing this card, much less losing to it, was supposed to be rare experience. Obviously broken, and even more so as the game has sped up and advanced.

Wait, people actually rated this below a 5?

Why does anyone rate this less than five?
I mean, I know, undercosted, but I don't think that's any reason to rate it less than five.
However, I can understand rating things like Baneslayer Angel less than five.
The difference here is that if the metagame is a China shop, Time Walk is a rampaging Beast that WoTC accidentally let out of its cage in the China shop, and Baneslayer is a guy with a large club that WoTC paid to go destroy the China shop.

Are those traffic cones? Maybe the artwork was made by someone who had to retake their driving test.

I would put this right behind Ancestral Recall as the most powerful card ever. Yeah...blue did alright back in the day...
