MULTIPLE EPIC SPELLS ARE FEASIBLE TO SET OFF. You need two in your hand (two of the same would work); a quicken, vedalken orrery, or leyline of anticipation; and ridiculous amounts of mana production (such as Cloudpost, Glimmerpost, Vesuva and Mycosynth Lattice) or mana reduction (such as the Planeshift familiars or Cloudkey).

Slap down one Epic spell, then before it resolves, quicken, then put another Epic spell on the stack. By the time one resolves, the other one's already been cast, and is not affected by "You can't cast spells". This has been confirmed by a MTG customer support representative via email..

Never heard of Epic cards before but one thing's for sure: they are EPIC.

Multiplayer blue mage's wet dream for sure. Very risky, for not an overwhelming benefit in relation to its mana cost, but incredibly fun. Even the picture screams epic spell. This is never ever coming out of my mono-blue EDH.

@BlueInkAlchemist
Yes, since you aren't casting/playing the copies, you are putting additional copies of the spell onto the stack, as stated in Echo Mage's rulings. So yes, you can indeed copy the spell 2 times over on each of your successive turns with a leveled up mage, building up more and more copies of it. Another cool choice is Uyo, Silent Prophet, to get a whole bunch on stack as soon as possible, before your replicating source is destroyed. Also, you can still replay those lands you bounce since lands are not spells.

So I wonder if this could work while playing a multiplayer game, use Hive Mind cast this card but then counter the one effecting you?

The turn after my friend cast this, I drew Declaration of Naught. And there was much weeping. Then he decided to just try to beat me to death with the two creatures he had. Then I charged up Echo Mage and started copying it twice in response to my counters. And there was much resigning.

I love gargantuan Blue spells. They always have the most hilariously awesome effects.
