You can't tap an ornithopter, it's colorless. The convoke color restriction is flavorful, but hurts it a bit :/

Good find, Kenji18.
Great combat trick that often saves me a green creature because of the absolute surprise value (being tapped out manawise).

when blocking you can actually tap the creature you boost for convoke (if its green)

You can play it for free by tapping a Nettle Sentinel. Actually, using Nettle Sentinel with any of the convoke cards is quite profitable. Come to think of it, use Ballynock Trapper for white convoke, too, although it is a great deal more expensive.

This is rated way too low. This can seriously turn the tide of the game, and can really trick your opponent into losing good creatures. 4/5 for sure!

A free spell is a good spell. Tap a 1/1 or less and you've made a profit, period, and I can think of plenty of situations where putting the power all in one place is better anyway. Especially with that lovely little Sentinel gal that costs a song and dodges the tap.

The Convoke cost is this thing's saving grace. Tapping some random token or an ornithopter our opponent thought you where saving for defense to buff a creature can save a creature from death, or kill a creature your opponent thought was safe when it blocked. Just make sure you tap out your mana, so they don't see it coming (unless you're running convoke as a subtheme, in which case your opponent will quickly learn to see it coming).

This has my favorite art among pump spells.

Compare to the new Mutagenic Growth. Is +2/+2 worth 2 life to you or tapping a creature?

To be honest, this seems like more of a white card. Tap a soldier to provide another one the courage to keep fighting. Still, functionally, it works pretty well. 3/5
