Yeah, I've countered quite a lot of spells with this since I play EDH a LOT.
This card is, honestly, amazing.
Can tutor up probably 1/5th of my deck while still being a very useful counterspell.
5/5, and no less from me.

QUESTION:
With Leyline of Anticipation on the Battlefield, could I transmute at instant speed? Since it says, "transmute as a sorcery", and I can play sorceries as though they had flash, I should be able to flash-transmute, right/wrong?

If you're playing monoblue, this is strictly better than Negate, and transmute is a ridiculous ability in itself.

@Auriscope, this is not a mono-blue strictly better than negate, this doesn't hit enchantments, artifacts or planeswalkers. It makes up for it a bit, but it's still only good if you've got important stuff at 2 mana.

I use this to find Lightning Greaves. This is also great protection against removal of any kind.

@Fictionarious, I don't think it would allow you to do that, since the leyline only says you can play nonland cards as though they had flash. I'm fairly certain the ability isn't transitive to the abilities of nonland cards alternative to playing them, like cycling, transmute, etc, although I don't have a rule to quote to substantiate that.
