Yer, that's why glimpse the unthinkable is such a good card. it shrinkens your deck by 10 for only TWO SMALL BLUE/BLACK MANA!

QUESTION: Does Quicken work on Equip costs on artifacts already on the battlefield? I only ask because those equip costs are so often specifically described as being playable only when you can play a sorcery.
Here's my reasoning: You play Quicken. Assuming it resolves without being countered, at that moment, you are now "at a time you can play a sorcery" or you can then "Equip ***AS A*** Sorcery"? Right?
If that's right, think of all the horrifying surprises you can give an opponent during his/her turn when they think a particularly annoying piece of equipment is out of play because it's not equipped to a creature when your turn ends or the creature to which it is attached is tapped. Surestrike Trident suddenly lands on a key defender of yours, enabling you to tap and hit your opponent directly at a vulnerable moment. Or perhaps one of those hexproof-providing artifacts suddenly lands on the defender your opponent is targeting with some nasty spell durin... (see all)

How about "The next spell you play this turn has Flash. Draw a card."
One can only imagine...

@Ideatog
That wouldn't work, As the damage applies before WorldFire would take affect, I know since I tried the same thing in a tournament. though if you cast world fire, they can promptly use a Sudden Disappearance and win the game with overkill. however, there are burn cards that deal damage on their next turn, like Rift Bolt that would win.

Hmmmm....
Flame Slashing stuff at instant speed, while others get automatically Electrolyzed thanks to Spellweaver Volute, oh, and my Quest for Pure Flame is halfway finished thanks to that Leyline of Lightning that everyone seems to shun, and all this while Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind lazily makes some barbeque out of whatever 's at the other side of the red zone, and having spent no cards... 'Cause the aforementioned Flame Slash was actually Cast Through Time. Yes please!

You attack me for 30 trampling damage? In response I play quicken and then play shahrazad. Now, would like to go ahead and pay half your life now since most of your creatures and buffs will not be in this subgame? Good choice, good choice. Oh, but that took you down to 6 life! Double lightning bolt, GG.

Very awe-inspiring, I must say.

This card's such a home run for so many reasons. It's flexible, cheap (in mana and in price), it replaces itself, and the art and flavor text are simply perfect.
What a great card!
