Superior in a non-replicate deck, maybe. This card allows you to draw cards and add sorceries to the stack for Gelectrodes or Wee Dragonauts to eat. I think it's solid.

@SlackWareWolf: Stroke of Genius is superior in those combo decks that make the opponent draw the whole library and the fact that is an instant makes the combo more solid. In every other case Braingeyser and Mind Spring are better, but a little depending on the situation and the deck you're playing...
Of course generally these cards are better, at least because they are rare, instead of common, but this doesn't mean that Train of Thought is a bad card. Its flexibility pays for its high cost...

It'd be sweet if the replicate on this was .
But alas, I don't think they'll print a better X draw in the near future...

It's weak. Flexible + tying up mana with a sorcery = bad. How often are you going to be happy with tying up 2UU as opposed to leaving mana open for a counterspell?
The thought was good, but the execution is not.

Sure, Mindbreak Trap, Swift Silence, and Time Stop work. Counterflux works as well with overload, as does Double Negative (in a manner -- you'll at least trade 1 for 1, but prevent them from drawing at least two). Then there's Flusterstorm, which effectively means they're paying 3 mana for every card they want to draw (assuming they haven't tapped out).
You could play Rewind with Tamiyo, the Moon Sage's emblem out, or any counter with Tamiyo's emblem and Omniscience. Then there's Dovescape.

I'll admit, the fact that it's hard to counter is pretty interesting. Best with copious amounts of colorless mana in a blue deck; say from Palladium Myr, Metalworker, or some such.
