... that way you could've used the bloodthirst to get a slightly better Craw Wurm? Which isn't really a crazy idea when there's already Yavimaya Wurm at common too... Or maybe they left it as uncommon because they were worried about counter shenanigans.

But seriously, the casting cost is too high, the bloodthirst payoff is too low, and who cares about extra toughness when you're going to use it as an attacker that can't be blocked anyway?

This is another time when I wish they put the WOTC design comments in one of the tabs on Gatherer, just so we can see why they went with this final design!
