I think technically you could put an aura on it with Sovereigns, since it's not targeting, but then the aura would immediately go to the graveyard.

I'd say it's beneficial. Creature-buffing auras are prone to causing card disadvantage, so you probably shouldn't be using a vast majority of them. However, creature-neutralizing auras (Pacifism, et al) don't share the same problem.

Lol, Enchanted Evening turns this into a mini progenitus with flying. Still weak to spells, but protection from permanents :D

Recently I went against an Exalted Deck and was pleasantly surprised when my opponent realised he couldn't tap this with Angelic Benediction.

I wish they'd reprinted this in RTR, if only because the interactions with Theros would be amusing.

Jokergius: Eh, Enchanted Evening is a bit much to produce what will essentially be a Phantom Warrior. Unless, of course, you run some other Enchanted Evening tricks alongside it. Which one undoubtably will.

Question! Sooo...if I attacked with this guy alone, while I had Sovereigns of Lost Alara out, would I be able to enchant him with an aura...? Since it wouldn't technically be targeting it? Just genuinely ignorant.

You can't enchant it via Sovereigns of lost Alara, because protection prevents enchanting.
Btw. It's Protection from Oblivion Ring and from Journey to Nowhere!

to Discoduck, yeah I'm pretty sure that Sovereigns would still put the enchantment on him
