I was going to point out the combo that Esperlord just mentioned, but he beat me to it.
But still, Pain Magnification + Furnace of Rath + Megrim = "Whenever an opponent discards a card, that player discards his or her hand and is dealt 4 damage for each card discarded." Now there's a situation that should tilt the game in your favour.
Considering that this is a Rakdos card, it can also help you achieve hellbent when you take damage. Sadly, a disappointingly small number of cards make hellbent truly seem worth the effort. Anthem of Rakdos, Demonfire and Rakdos Pit Dragon seem the best to me. Gibbering Descent is good too, but only as a combo piece, albeit a very strong combo piece, considering the many black cards that require you or every player to sacrifice something, lose life or discard cards during upkeep.

Would this trigger with a Font of Mythos or 2 Howling Mines and Underworld Dreams. The ruling is not clear on this as they draw 3 cards on the draw step and Underworld dreams does 1 damage for each card. I'm not sure if this counts as 3 separate triggers or if they would be at the same time.

Best to use with run-of-the-mill above the curve creatures.
Veteran Brawler, Stormblood Berserker, and other 2-drop 3+s make for a very efficient means to cause rampant discard on curve. Hellspark fits well here for repeatability, and Guul Draz Vampire can be a late-game source of not only damage but repeatable discard
