@Palochka: Obviously you haven't seen Wall of Fire, Vent Sentinel, or Aether Membrane. Walls are perfectly in the Red mages style if used correctly. Red doesn't JUST mean mindless destruction and a blatant disregard for its own safety. It can play that way but that isn't a requirement, just like how White doesn't REQUIRE things like Healing Salve, Blue doesn't REQUIRE Cancel, etc. To the Red mage who enjoys lobbing fire down upon his foes from his mage's tower, Red walls are the way to go. They offer a major advantage to the Red mage who actually has a brain in his head, which is I suppose why you can't appreciate it.

As for the card itself, a bit underwhelming at 2Red, would've been fine at 1Red, but what can you do? Name was taken and whatnot. Love the concept and flavor, though. A small outpost that can be collapsed to get your troops on the move.

Finally a red wall that makes sense. If you look at the history of red walls, the only other one that makes sense was the Pitchstone Wall from Torment and Vent Sentinel. Because the only reason, to provide a counterpoint to Braid_of_Fire's rant, that a red mage does want a wall, is because they are spellslingers in need of protection until they either cast a dragon or become a dragon (Form of the Dragon). A red mage would want walls is to make his spells more effecient, until they can reach dragon-level. This wall allows you to have a finisher without haste, and

High toughness and decent power allows you to save burn for utility characters & evasive creatures... this is why cards like Wall of Torches, or wall of stone don't make sense - they simply block either only once, like a bad burn spell, or do no damage, which just delays the inevitable. It is not for a sligh or RDW style d... (see all)
