Fits right in amongst dredgers. Sac a fatty and drain your opponent(s) for 10 life. Then dread return the same fatty and do it again.

I don't have a BlackGreen EDH deck yet, but I may just have to build one. Lots of combos mentioned already, but I'm thinking he would work well with Pattern of Rebirth, Defense of the Heart and Garruk, Caller of Beasts to dig out the fatties and get them into play (including Worldspine Wurm, any Eldrazi (except Emrakul, who is not EDH playable) or anybody else with the right colors). And if you could throw down a Lifeline to go along with those, you could just keep lobbing fatties at your opponents all day. Not that it would take more than a couple of turns to kill them all at that rate, of course.

And on a side note, I tend to agree with spiney about the scavenge thing. Removing a creature from the graveyard reduces Jared's toughness, but you can place the +1/+1 counters on him to more than make up for the difference. Pairing Jared with ... (see all)

I can't believe no-one has realised that it is not he himself that has the synergy with scavenge. It is who he sacrifices. I just wiped out 5 players in one turn with Corpsejack menace out, scavenged a dreg mangler onto a 6/6 vastwood hydra to make him 12/12, sac'd him to jarad, put his 12 counters on a 4/4 feral hydra to make him a 28/28, sac'd to jarad. 28+12=40 whole table dead. Boom! Even the judge was like wtf just happened?!

I have / had (it's in limbo) a kresh edh deck that used red to grab my oppnents creatures, and then other sac engines like birthing pod, and altar of dementia once I had them. It was a good idea but needed work, I think this is a great help for that deck.

Why is he rated so low?
Repeatedly fling your Grave-Troll at them for more and more damage and swing with Jarad for the finisher.

Also, synergy with Fleshwrither if he's not your general.

I'm seriously considering altering mine by painting the Iron Maiden logo over his head.

I mean, the guy's Eddie.
