This card is a fixed Bazzar of Baghdad. THe original is so broken in vintage dredge. Drdge decks in vintage litterally mull down to it and then proceed to win in five turns and there isn't really an answer to it at least not in game one. That's why i like this card a lot though it could use shroud but hate bazzar of Baghdad.

Not my style. Needs graveyard power, otherwise it sucks. I know this makes me a bad player, seeing how retarded dredge, reanimation, and madness can be, but I prefer to hold onto my cards.

The best thing they did to the cycle of Magus' (Magi?) was make them creatures.

Creatures are a much more vulnerable permanent to deal with than any other. You can burn them, wipe them, attack them, block them, force an attack, force a block... It's no wonder cards like Path to Exile are used constantly in Modern.

The other drawback of having a creature is summoning sickness. With the old Bazaar, you could drop it and immediately dance if you want to. Here, you have to play it, wait a turn, and then use the ability. Considering the ease of removing creatures (especially 0/1's), you essentially played a "target player discards a kill spell" card.

@Selez:

If you're playing dredge, Bazaar of Baghdad is the best land drop possible. Unlike the Magus, the Bazaar activates turn 1 and is free. Voidmage Prodigy and Patron Wizard aren't played in vintage, ever, so disregard that completely. Those auras are easy two-for-ones, and dredge uses Fatestitcher to untap the Bazaar anyway. If you're chump blocking, ever, you're doing it wrong.

"undoubtedly better for other types of decks" - if you're running Magus or the Bazaar over, say, Merfolk Looter or a cephalid... you're doing it wrong.
