hey guys am i missing something? cant you use this against replicate? ya it owns replicate, not unlike that replicate using izzet in the art. ;)

Because of weird targeting nonsense, my Ink-Treader Nephilim EDH didn't have functional answers to enemy spells. I discovered this after trying to RedirectandConfound an enemy Rite of Replication. Frustrating.
So after some retooling, I dropped my counters and swerve spells and replaced them with this, Mindbreak Trap, Stifle, Voidslime, and Trickbind. Of those, this is easily the best.

The Azorius answer to old Izzet, if the art wasn't indicative enough. Useful against a lot of things, and the card drawing is very much in Azorius's favor.

What's bad about this card...
It can still be countered.
It's too expensive to be much use in the counterspell wars where it'd be profitable.
It's dangerous against storm, because you have to draw the cards, and that can be fatal in itself... Not to mention that every decent storm deck is capable of getting rid of a counterspell or two anyways, before or while going off.
As has been said, this is only really good against replicate spells. Very limited.

Play it with Eye of the Storm in multiplayer. No one can cast instants or sorceries unless everyone says so!
