To have a white creature give you shroud itn't that good because a lot of white spells give target player life and you wouldn't be able to use that. I would suggest witchbane orb

I set up such a deck against a friend with his "lol my goblin deck is unbeatable" ideology. Did pretty well since I also had some other anti red thrown in there.
Ravnica's red/black flavor kinda messed up my happy medium though.

In a cleric deck Mother of Runes is enough to protect this guy. Add in a Master Apothecary (or Battletide Alchemist) and you've got yourself the Holy Trinity. Possibly on turn 3.

I want to alter this card so that he has his fingers in his ears, and give him new flavor text: "LA LA LAAA, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" Maybe a gigantic stack of untouched books in front of him lol
