@xsirch: You never add lands to your mana pool. You add mana to your mana pool. Lands add mana; they are not themselves mana. Compare the wording on this to the wording on any old printing of a basic land.

Back in the day we never realised the potential of these cards. There weren't any two coloured cards to begin with. It was when word got out that the Dual lands weren't to be reprinted that people started to take notice. I remember when the average Dual land was $6 and people still thought them overpriced.
