How terrible!

If their hand is worth keeping, they will pay the life and kill you with what they've got. If their hand isn't worth seven life to them, then they must have had a pretty crappy hand to begin with. In that case, Tyrannize is completely win-more.

For five mana, you could be destroying their hand with a Mind Sludge or Mind Twist, and doing so without giving them the option to play around your spell. Tyrannize even fails to give you an effect at a discounted price, which at least Browbeat (sort of) gives you. And yet even Browbeat is terrible, making this actually something akin to abyssmal.

Such a nice card.

Get some double damage source instant/enchantments and it's nearly as bad as having had the opponent discard 7 cards with 1 megrim out.

Copy it if you're in the mood for intense hellbent/madness for yourself.

Really bad card. People seem to forget that with this sort of card, you always get the worse of the two options. Maybe if they lowered it to, say, 5 damage, and then gave you the choice this might be playable.

Browbeat is not terrible (and neither is Dash Hopes). You use them in burn decks of their respective colors. Allow me to explain.

When will the opponent choose burn on Browbeat?
When he thinks he can afford the life (which is early game).
When will the opponent choose draw on Browbeat?
When they either can't take the burn or are too scared to (which is late game).

When do YOU want Browbeat to burn?
Early game, when both your hand and your opponent's life are full.
When do YOU want Browbeat to draw?
Late game, when you're topdecking, they're running low on life, but you need a little more steam.

The card is engineered for them to pick the better option for you. Same with Dash Hopes. First two or so are treated as really cheap instant speed Lava Axes, and then once you have them scared, you have a monoblack Counterspell.

This card sucks though. A lot of decks can be topdecking (or close ... (see all)
