Heavy artillery for a defender deck. Turns defense into offense relatively easily.

I love everything there is about this card
standard power and toughness for a card with such an abusable effect.

This and Overgrown Battlement just made defender decks good. Just put those two together and a whole bunch of walls, throw in fireballs and you've go t two wincons and a fortress

Well, you know what they say: a good offense is a good... defender.

I love this card to no end. It inspired the second deck I ever made, a RB defender deck for multiplayer games with my friends. It used cards like wall of souls and aether membrane to encourage players to attack elsewhere, then eventually finish off dangerous players in 1-2 turns with this card. I actually still use it today, however now it leans more green for axebane guardian and sprouting phytohydra and has alternate wincons like pontiff of blight.
I've always loved this card just because of how epic it is as a creature: a mountainous lava golem flinging balls of molten rock across the sky...absolutely awesome.
