@raverboy1123 - Jedijoe is right, Akroma dies to Reiver Demon due to its ability not being a targeting or damage effect (which pro black would otherwise prevent), but one that simply says to destroy all nonblack, nonartifact creatures on the battlefield. No targeting and no damage is mentioned because there is none involved. Nice try raverboy and look more closely when comparing the rules and text next time.

Akroma + Elvish Piper = high mana cost? what high mana cost?
Also, Akroma + Concerted Effort: every other creature you control gets flying, trample, vigilance, first strike, and protection from red and from black. Bazinga!

Much better art. Akroma was always supposed to have a glorious feel, filling those who looked at her with a sense of dumbstruck awe at the fact that anything so serene and beautiful could exist. This new art captures that. The old art, though? All I can think looking at it is "lol, eighties haircut". I thought that art looked silly back when I was a kid during Legions, and I think it now.

quite nice artwork, the thing is i think she should at least be wielding that claymore instead of just holding it. While i do like the older flavor text, Akroma's new text fits her far better.
"No rest. No Mercy. No matter what." fits better on a _____ The Merciless card. something with a dedicated bounty hunter feel. the speech, while nice, doesnt feel as well done as with her old flavortext.

One of the top three angels. I can't even express how much fun the Akromas are.

This is a very overrated card. I am not against eight mana cards in general, if you cheat them out or ramp up to them, they can be very effective threats. However, If you are going to do all that for one card, it should come much closer to ensuring you victory. A good finisher, what this card should be, gives you a massive threat that has to be dealt with, at the same time as making sure your opponent's threats are stopped (See Gisela, Stormtide Leviathan, and Elesh Norn). This acts as a powerful beater, but its abilities only affect itself, and don't stop your opponent at all. If you haven't lost any life, it takes four hits from Akroma to kill you, and if you had a victory plan set up before this is played, you will probably still win. Gisela, on the other hand, is in my opinion the best angel in magic, because it is the kind of card that lets you win even if you seemed to have no chance otherwise. Don't get me wrong, this is still a good card, and i expect it to be played in some co... (see all)

um....... Behalter, did you even read this card. it has protection from black and from red. last i checked, doom blade was just a little bit black
@ daedalus25, ah, ok, that makes much more sense
@ everyone making fun of the art, the rainbows are not actually part of the picture, it just like the From the Vault, Dragons, all the pictures in there show that weird rainbow thing on the card, i asume to say that all copies of this version are promo. Lord of the Pit has the same stuff on his card, and no thinks he has rainbows on him.

Actually the demonic deck has quite a few ways of dealing with her

I agree with MoonUnderaMask. The artwork is good - yet for some reason it doesn't mirror the image of Akroma Rom Spears and Magic the Gathering: Battlegrounds gave me at all. Her face looks unfamiliar.
Some may think different, but I prefer the old one with the thick hair rather than this one with straight hair.
