@DonRoyale: underrated?!?!?!?!? as of this writing it's a 4.850/5
we have a dilemma here, too weak a creature to use removal on yet too much a combo enabler to ignore...

One of my favorite cards in SOM with all the poison, charge, -1/-1, and loyalty counters

Seeing this card makes me want to invent mad combos with it, which, to me, makes for a very fun card.
There are many great ideas floating around in this discussion and while I haven't read all of them I would really like to combo this little guy with Venser.
You could make it unblockable without Venser losing any counters, but that would only be decent if there are other cards that require counters present, otherwise you're only really swinging for 1 which isn't all that incredible. But thinking of all the counter madness in SoM I'm sure something could be made of this combo...
Preferably 2+ Thrummingbirds. Then this simple combo will soon power Venser's wonderful ultimate.
Anyway, great card that offers a lot of fun to build around.

This makes my level-up creatures happy as much as training grounds.

He makes a nice target for Umezawa's Jitte, doesn't he? Attack, get more charge counters than you're supposed to... And yeah, levelers love him. What a cheap way to get those pesky levels up.

I use this in a White/Blue allies build to speed up getting +1/+1 counters on creatures like Kazandu Blademaster, Hada Freeblade, Umara Raptor, Kabira Evangel, and Jwari Shapeshifter.

Great card. I wish they had printed more cards with Proliferate than they did.

Anyone else notice the uncanny resemblance to Impaler Shrike? Except this is a Horror, and the latter isn't, for some strange reason.
