It's arguably best of manamyrs, because blue often needs both artifacts and mana acceleration for more "off the turn surprises"

Best of the 2-drop tap for mana Myr, simply because of it's color. Similar to how Copper Myr is the worst of the cycle.

Blue creatures are so weak that blue decks often use colourless creatures instead. That's another reason to use this thing in blue decks, if you want help putting out Myr Enforcer or something like that.

yeah I'm gonna have to say best manamyr, first cuz its in blue and theres not much blue accel in standard, even though with grand architect it does have its merits. My most needed myr, and also the only one I only have one of. Seriously, I have like twenty gold myrs and one silver myr.

I don't think they used this art because they thought it was better. Just having multiple arts increases the collectibility so much.
There are interesting things that come up when you use two of the same card from different sets, or with alternate art. Even basic lands. Did you play a land different than the one you just tutored for? Then you aren't mana screwed. Simple information things like that.

The first time I read this card, I thought, "SLIVER MYR? OH GOD!" Then I realized that it said silver. I still think it's good, but not as good as a Sliver Myr would have been.
