Hopefully, I will not live to see this card reprinted.

It is strictly better than every other counter spell ever.

2 mana to counter any kind of spell with no drawback is too broken.

Ah, Counterspell. How I loved you, and yet I still understand why you had to go. If you were still around, the cries of "Blue is OP!!!1!" from the newbies would be even louder, and (slightly) more justified. Being able to stop anything, save for a precious few "Can't be countered" spells and the Split Second cards (generally said to be overpowered anyway), with just two blue mana *was* borderline unfair.

Like achilleselbow, I have a soft spot for the IA version but I have to say I prefer the art on this one.
