I'm gonna continue replying to 2 year old posts.
What rillaan meant by "red damage" is that this sort of damage-dealing is typically a red mechanic, whilst white usually prevents the damage. The black part is that black usually are the ones with color restrictions (all though in this case the original card, strafe, is red).
