So does this card mean any creature on the battlefield that dies gives you life and target player loses life, or only those under your control?

This guy and a Divine Reckoning makes for some nice synergy, and also, for the win.
Especially when facing token decks.

One of the best combos ever, this, Blowfly Infestation, and Flourishing Defenses.
Auto win, even in multiplayer free for all.
Just put a -1 counter on anything that will die, bring out an elf, move the counter to the elf, bring out an elf, move the counter to that one. Rinse and repeat until you win.

I don't even combo this to play it well. Throw just one of these down in a multiplayer game and it will pay off -- whether it's the little civil wars going on it the corner, or the wrath of god that gets laid down, you win no matter what.

Combo with Stromkirk Noble...
OK, not really, but both cards have such a huge ego.

Yes, *any* creature that dies. Make a deck with 4 of these, 4 Hissing Iguanors and some token engine and you almost cannot lose in a creature heavy metagame in multiplayer. Having 3 of this type of effect on the table means a bucketload of damage for any opponent when it's boardwipe time. Which happens a lot in multiplayer.
People won't notice it before it's too late hehe. Turn 3 hissing iguanar, turn 4 this one, turn 5 maybe another hissing. Smile once they realize what it means. ..

One of my win conditions in my G/B token swarm casual deck. Mana accel leads to saproling fun with Jade Mage and then Nemata, Grove Guardian. If swarming doesn't work, this and sac engines like Fallen Angel or Nantuko Husk work quite well.

Played my Splinterfright deck against my friend's vampire deck with this guy out. With lots of removal spells like Doom Blade, Victim of Night, and Incinerate, this guy's ability adds up very quickly. VERY underestimated. 4.5/5

I have a timing question on this guy. Is this an effect that is simultaneous with combat damage or are creatures dying and giving me life resolved after damage is assigned? IE if combat damage reduces my life to zero: do I get saved by some creatures dying and giving me life, or would that trigger later?
