Used this in the prerelease , helped me win a round...

Opponent had a flameblast dragon out , and attacked me and used it's ability , I ended up with 3 life left.
On my turn I slapped a Slaughter cry on him and attacked for 7 , then I used Fling to deal him 7 damage again , he dropped down from 14 , to 7 , to 0...for helping me win 2 rounds he deserves at least a 4.0 from me

Look, it's a black air elemental. That's not necessarily a bad thing. It fills in the midrange black flier slot. And it's ability...well, I've been running this card for years, and he's only rarely gotten a single counter, and never more than that. New art sucks though, bring back the Anson Maddocks Nosferatu.

It's a pity that there are no black permanents or spells that are similar to a Contested Cliffs. THAT would make the vampires shine... eh... I mean "really good".

The art makes me smile....because he looks like he is being electrocuted.

I'm disappointed I don't see him played more, decent 4/4 flier that people don't want to block unless they can kill him or have no choice. I play 3 or4 in my vamp deck, just got back into magic, so have to use old revised/4th art ;p

White: Serra Angel
Blue: Phantasmal Dragon
Black: Sengir Vampire
Red: Volcanic Dragon
Green: Cudgel Troll.

When you think about what each card does and how much each card costs, each of those two attributes makes perfect sense for the cards' colors and for the cards' speeds. Even Volcanic Dragon makes perfect sense for Red at 6 cost. Yes, it's a little slower to cast. Red has traditionally had creatures cost a bit more for what they do than other colors have (see Sabretooth Tiger, Elvish Archers, and Youthful Knight). Well guess what. He casts a turn later than the other flyers I mentioned above, but he attacks at the same game tempo. They wait a turn to attack. He casts a turn later, but attacks right when he comes out. That sort of fits Red. The creatures cost a bit more, but they're often faster, or at least more tenacious.

Green's creatures are basically alwa... (see all)

Kinda funny how his self-pump is sort of the inverse of the Innistrad block vampires' self-pump.

You could make a silly combo with Gorgon Flail (or Basilisk Collar), Thornbite Staff and this.

Art-wise, it's decent. I'd place it better than pale bald Sengir, but not close to the Beatdown Box Set art, makes him look like Baron Sengir, and... I guess that's the way it should've been?

I for one love the new art. The Sengir bloodline aren't your pretty-type vampires, this guy deserves a freaky, Transylvania-esque mugshot. Just look at that lovable guy!

Awesome card! this card was the start of vampire tribal decks (at least for me). Throw this in a vamp deck with all sorts of self-sac vamps, and Blade of the Bloodchief, and you have got yourself a nearly unstoppable attacker with flying

Definetely 5/5
