@Aronomizer
Cause he keeps hitting you pretty hard if you don't end up killing him somehow. He's a threat that has to be answered to asap, or you're going to be taking a bit of damage. That what makes him good.(In my opinion at least.) Sure, he has weak stats, but if you keep him alive and well, you'll be able to nail your opponent for around 6 every turn. Not to mention he's really hard to kill with regular spells.(Unless of course it's something like smallpox/innocent blood or day of judgment/damnation.)

Angelic Destiny
Easy and very feasible 5 turn Standard win.

i am suprised and shocked that no one has suggested Angel of Flight Alabaster in combo with him. stick aMask of Avacyn on her (preventing removal), attack with trafty + his angelic sidekick, next turn bring trafty back to life (cause your opponent would have to be a chump to not chump block him). of course, that would mean he has summoning sickness every other turn, but better than him siting in the graveyard for the rest of the game.
or you could just use Spirit Mantle.
i want this card so much for my spirit/angel deck (oh who am i kidding. its a spectral legion deck, we all know it).

After reading his back story, the fact that he is a 2/2 for three makes sense. Back when he was alive, I could imagine him as being one of those 2/2's that WotC never seem to run out of ideas for, who would have had some swanky ability that would put him either at uncommon or rare. Then of course, the blue comes from the influence of the spirit tribal, which is represented in this card as his ghost.
See, flavoured it makes sense and as part of a card mechanic design standpoint.

I'd love to run U/W spirit deck, but it just doesn't seem worth it without four of these puppies.

Just curious, what effect would Traft's token generation have in an Exalted deck? Would the exalted trigger before the token is created or would Traft's attack plus the angel token's attack prevent the exalted effect of other cards?

@Vinocybe: Exalted would still give a bonus if Geist of Saint Traft attacks alone.

Silverblade Paladin's soulbond can trigger upon Traft spawning his angels. Free 4/4 flying double strike, anyone?

The story of Saint Traft: http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/stf/160. "Remember to curse the name of Withengar when you attack for 6 on turn four."
By the way, he's half Blue because Blue is the color of malevolent ghosts in Innistrad (and possibly in general, going forward). Traft is a fighter for the good guys, but he's still a ghost who has it out for a certain group, so the W/U makes perfect sense. While alive, he was probably all W.
Blue was chosen as the one of the colors for ghosts because of their association with both Flying and Shroud. White is the color of benevolent ghosts, because of their association with Flying and religion. Black is related to spirits formed of negative energy or the souls of very evil people (you might call these "wraiths" or "specters"). Of course, any color can and has been a spirit, though that's usually related to their element. Green has forest spirits, Red has fire and earth spirits, and Blue has wind and water spiri...
