Huntmaster is the most Canadian magic card ever printed. Look at him: Bigfoot beard. Dressed for winter. Axe and bear trap at the ready. Recently received some free healthcare. Doing the Captain Morgan pose, and probably wasted.

I seriously Underestimated this card when I first saw it. On a lark, I tossed it into my Mono-green standard deck as a target for Green Sun's Zenith or to work out with a BoP. I was amazed at the Tempo this thing gained me. Especially if I had the means to cause him to flip back after he transformed into the Ravager.
Board Position + lifegain + more Board Position + Shock + potential do it again = way better than it seems on the surface. Give this guy a shot sometime if you pull one, you might be pleasantly surprised like I was.
@HowardTreesong You only have to not play spells on your turn. You can totally play spells on their turn. Consider: Cast Huntmaster. Pass. Opponent plays, but doesn't answer it. Your turn, attack or whatever, pass. His upkeep, flip to ravager, cast an Incinerate, a Naturalize, or other combat tricks, then flip him back? That's bank. That screams to your opponent ANSWER ME! Or, if your opponent doesn't have anything that the Ravager can ... (see all)

Favorite card in the set.
It's nice to look at. Got a badass name, too.
And it just gives you SO MUCH advantage from even a single activation.

This art is amazing. Not just the beauty of it, but the fact that every single color on the card interacts well. The combination of the red and green borders on gold background with the fiery red/orange mythic symbol and the dramatic golden sunlight in the image is truly one of the best color effect ever to appear on a magic card.

I never noticed before that he has a bandaged bite on his hand, and then when you flip the card the werewolf's hand is bleeding. That's some pretty flavorful art.

If Werwolfs become a DTB this will be the only card rivaling Sorin, Lord of Innistrad for the most expensice DKA Card (20$+).

The one thing werewolves needed, (etb/flip triggers) and the only one that does anything is mythic. That's fucked up, wizards. Fucked up.

This could be nice with in a deck with Bloodbraid Elf and Fires of Yavimaya followed by a turn 5 Siege-Gang commander.

Very solid; however, very depressing antisynergy with Immerwolf

If you get Immerwolf out before Huntmaster transforms, you'll still end up with eight power and double card advantage for four mana. All the awkward interaction is doing is keeping overkill from becoming mega-overkill.
