But this is an ok card. It's fine to animate your mountains and I'm sure aggressive decks could use it but Doom Blade...

Bleh, I don't care for the new art at all. Most of the art for the Duel Decks just looks bad to me. The old Koth had a certain air of purpose, of...strength. Actual strength. This guy just looks standard Red mage ***ed. Yawn.

Actually, I quite like this art. I feel like his hands DO reflect his focus on geomancy and volcanomancy, as Chandra's reflected her rather cliche obsession with fire. Koth, rather, has lava and black smoke, like what a volcano spews. I quite like the card too. The precon is actually pretty solid if played conservatively, and now's your chance to pick up a playset of Koths and Vensers for under a hundred bucks. Take it if you can.

i currently Run a Replicate based Izzet burn deck with Chandra, the Firebrand as my planeswalker but this guy is looking like a pretty attractive offset to her straight burn. he can just push my mana to its limits and i really can pump out the burn spells faster that way. on top of it all, his ult. could cover me if i get spell-screwed and need to stop a lifegain machine.

5/5, best red planeswalker. So abusive early game and end game. Comes in T4, so you have about 4 mountains. Collects so much mana, and activates ult in 2 turns which can kill opponent on T6. (If you've searing'd, or done some other burns to bring down opponents life, which you should have).
Put's down pressure early, finishes quickly, mono red in it's soul.
