I said my brother (24 years old) about this card to see his reaction. He agreed that Black Lotus is very powerful and after short reflection he said deadly serious that with two of these he can cast even a Nightmare or a Corrupt on his first turn. I couldn't stop my laugh :D

@Swag_Crow There, there. It's alright. *pats his back*
Seriously now, yo do realize that this is just about the best (and most OP/broken) mana accelerator ever printed, right? Think about it: people nowadays still use mana accelerators like Dark Ritual, why? Because they're GOOD. Not in every deck of course, but you can certainly build a decent one if you get the right cards.
When you get better at this game, you'll realize you were wrong.

@Swag_Crow ....Why the hell would you play a pact when you have 0 mana.... I'd rather have an insane board advantage turn 1 then card advantage because card advantage helps late game not early game, if you have a shit ton of card advantage early game you just discard the stuff you want anyway..

@EvilCleavage
Shichifukujin Dragon
EDIT: No, that is the correct answer to his question. Don't downvote me.

Variation 1
T1 Black Lotus, Swamp, Phyrexian Obliterator.
Opponent
T1 Plains, Swords to Plowshares.
Variation 2
T1 Swamp, Dark Ritual, Hypnotic Specter.
Opponent
T1 Plains, Swords to Plowshares.
In both situations your out in a card disadvantage. Black Lotus is not broken in any deck... Its beyond broken when you combine with card draw. Decks that only topdeck, it can actually lead to a card disadvantage.

Strictly more expensive than my entire M:TG collection.
Also, why would anyone rate this under 5?

My goodness, is this card ever broken. 0 mana to give your Atog +2/+2 until end of turn? Obscene!

Turn 1: Mountain, Black Lotus, Ornithopter
Tinker using the lotus mana to find a Blightsteel Colossus. Then use Chaos Charm, and win. One of the many reasons why nobody should be rating this below 5 stars.
