If you don't know much about the Magic storyline / lore, then the original artwork is completely lost on you. This artwork has a broader appeal for those out there who have no idea who Karn, Volrath, the Legacy, or Gerrard may be. Plus, those storylines are now so old that it was probably time for an update.
