This is a rare because it targets artifacts and enchantments, and you can still play it even if your opponent hasn't played any yet without wasting the Naturalize effect, unlike Viridian Shaman.
A naturalize on a stick is good, but the two power makes it great.

I can't help, I have to like art./ench. removal on a stick. The perfect utility for elves who don't want to waste a slot on Naturalize.

It fits elf deck, it's mono-green. Viridian Zealot and Qasali Pridemage are both valid in their own decks.

To all the people complaining about its rarity.
Its from the mirroden block which was heavily artifact based, having this at anything less then rare would have screwed up limited play.
If you look at it by todays standards, its just gone the way of serra angel thanks to the power creep.

I like this card for elf tribal. Gives you the power to deal with any artifact / enchantment on your 2 drop beater elf. Good enough for maindeck, as a x4 in my opinion.
