The BEST flavor text ever printed on Counterspell.

poor T2 players of today... two untapped islands used to be the most disgusting and convincing bluff ever.

Best quote on a Counterspell, followed by Mercadian Masques, and then Ice Age. Artwork here isn't so great but at least it makes sense, unlike the 7th Edition version, what's going on there???

One of the best and most fundamental cards in Magic the Gathering. Sure there are better counter spell cards out there...but Counterspell is itself just such a classic...in some ways I prefer it to Force of Will. Standard players today just don't know the feeling of seeing 2 islands untapped and knowing if you try to play anything worth while, your wasting your time. I don't know whether I envy them or pity them. The art on this counterspell is "o-k". There's better and worse. The flavor text is pretty fun--I like Ertai's smugishness.

My favorite Counterspell art. Very closely followed by the Chandra vs. Jace version. Staple of control decks.

Probably my favorite artwork for this card, but I have a soft-spot for shiny Masques versions.
Heh. Old "Limp-trick" is hillarious, though.

Of the four copies of counterspell I own. three of them are this version. the art and the flavour text really make the card for me.

I like the art on the Ice Age version better, but this one is good too.

Why do most of you dislike this versions art? I think it's awesome! And the flavor text is the best!
