Best moment with this card... two- headed giant. Me and my partner both had debtor's knell out. Got to our upkeep, he had two of these in his graveyard. We both grabbed one and blew up the world. I actually said that it felt like we were holding two nuclear launch keys. XD

@ RecurringMemories: Gisela doesn't affect his trigger, she increases damage, not life loss.
That being said, Kokusho is still super fun with cards like Miren, the Moaning Well, Diamond Valley, High Market and Sheoldred. Yay for his unbanning in Commander :D

What the hell was Wizards thinking with all of these kamikaze Legends? The whole point of the legend rule is so that you don't end up playing multiple copies of powerful critters. Great design space though.

It's not often for a creature to be a contender for the best creature of its type.
Kokusho, in this case, is a contender for two creature types at the same time.

I get 4 of this in play at once on a regular bassis with my dragonstorm deck. It's one of the deck's win conditions

Yeah, target it with a kicked Rite of Replication. That would be... nice. :-)

Time for a design story!
As Aaron Forsythe recounts (http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtgcom/daily/af38); the spirit dragon cycle were costed according to how typical it was for dragons to show up in those colors.
So red and blue were the most splashable, Yosei and Cocopuffs less so, and Jugan the least so.
