...That's a *lot* of mana. I think nowadays, Iona, Shield of Emeria is preferable, if you happen to have nine white mana kicking around. And if you're playing black reanimator, Empyrial Archangel is better for the shroud, and has basically the same effect.

No reason to wait to hardcast it when you have Vigor Mortis in the same set. All you need is a way to get it into your graveyard. A Necra deck (green, white, black) should do the trick nicely with dredge. Though you don't even need white mana.
And yea, this is one of my favorite flavor texts in the game.

the problem with the flavortext is that you can still attack. i am guessing this guy is boros, and boros is all about war.
he could also be azorius, in that case it'd be more flavourful.

Well it's kinda good if you have a deck with some cards to search your library for lands (i.e. Khalni Heart Expedition or Harrow). It's only weakness is its high mana cost.

I just run it in a deck with Endless Horizons. My land drops are assured for the rest of the game as long as my opponent doesn't have any enchantment removal, and he comes out on turn nine guaranteed. I only run a singleton of it, but it basically wins you the game once it's out, barring Banefire or some such nonsense.

Try some Thran Weaponry with this one.

Good but too high. It'll take a long time to get that out. Lots of small spells to destroy it. Wont' feel too good after waiting all that time to get it out.
