One of only two bards in magic. He's a smashing fine chap to hang around with, but don't let him meet your mother.

The only reason I can think of is that if you want to draft Allies on MTGO you have to be quick at clicking "yes" because ALL ally triggers are optional.
I drafted an awesome ally deck once but I timed out. It really did suck.

Three, underwhelming for an Ally, but at least he does something interesting. Vaguely.
